Red is HERE!

Red
Marteeka Karland
(Salvation’s Bane MC, #9)
Published by: Changeling Press
Publication date: August 27th 2021
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance

I should send her far away from me. But one kiss and I know she’s mine. I’ll kill to protect her.

Rosanna: Salvation’s Bane’s been good to me — more of a family than I’ve ever had before. And I want that. But I’m not a kid any more, and I know what I want. Red. I need him to see me as more than just another mechanic. No matter how good I am, working beside the man is never going to be enough. I’m going to break him down. Get under his skin, until he realizes I’m a grown ass woman, and I know my mind. And if that bitch of an ex wife of his doesn’t leave us alone, she’s the next thing I’m gonna break.

Red: I’m headed for a special hell. Rosanna knows her way around cars, I’ll give her that, and she looks sexy as hell with a wrench in her hands and a spot of grease on her nose, but she’s just a kid. I know she’s got a past she can’t or won’t talk about, and she may think she’s all grown up, but she’s younger than my son, Anthony. Pretty sure that makes me some kind of a pervert. And now that Anthony’s the assistant DA, he’s got a bee up his ass to take me down. Be damned if I’ll let him take Rosanna with me. I should send her far away from me and this life, but one kiss is all it takes to pull me under. I could no more give her up than I could give up the air that I breathe. I’d kill to protect her. And from the looks of things, I may have to.

EXCERPT:

“Get the lead out, boys,” Red gruffed to the dozen or so men in the garage he owned. “We got less than forty-eight hours to deliver these two cars and I still need to go over them to make sure you fucks didn’t miss anything.”

“Go to hell, Red!”

“Like we ever miss anything, you motherfucker!”

“Fuck you.”

One guy just flipped him the bird without looking up from under the hood of the car he was working on.

“Lazy as you fuckers are, if I let it slide once, you’ll fuck me over the next time and it’s my ass in trouble with Thorn.” Red tried not to grin, but it was hard. He worked with good men and loved every one of them like a son. At least, he loved them like he wanted to love his own son. That ship had sailed, though.

“I can help if you need me.”

The groan came before Red could repress it. “No,” was all he said.

“But –”

“Said no, girl. Now get on with you.”

Her name was Rosanna Creamer, and the image her name presented just… stuck. Because, seriously, he could envision her creaming on his cock for hours and hours. Every day. Forever. She was also so young any thoughts he had about her were probably illegal. If not, they should be. He was forty-eight years old. Rosanna said she was twenty-three, but he had his doubts.

The disappointed look on her face got to him every time. He wanted to call her back and give her a job to do, but if he did, the kid would walk all over him.

“Fine. But I’m ten times better than any of those fuckers,” she muttered.

“No swearing.” He said it automatically, like he might scold a naughty child. The second he did, he winced.

“Fucking fine, motherfucker,” she shot back. There was venom in her voice, but Red didn’t mind. His head whipped around almost of its own accord to watch her stomp away. Because, really, she had an ass to make angels weep. When she hit this level of angry, she always flounced off with that little ass jiggling like his hand might make it jiggle if he’d smacked it. Sure enough… yeah. There she went. And just like that, his cock was at full attention.

“Fuck,” he muttered, rubbing his hand over his mouth.

“And don’t think I don’t know you’re looking at my ass,” she shot back over her shoulder. Then, just to torment him, she flashed him a cocky grin and bent over at the waist to pick up a wrench from the garage floor where some dumb fuck had left it.

He turned away from her. Had to. Otherwise, he’d have her bent over the hood of the GTO she was working on.

SNEAK PEEKS:

TEMPTED by Carina Alyce

“You are a professional,” ER Clerk Cassie Odon reminded herself, wheeling her computer through the MetroGen ER. The wee morning hours of Thursday night shifts in the minor care pod were supposed to be slow.

The triage nurse at the front door was having a ball because her triage reasons became more outlandish as the night wore on.

Seriously, why were Fabio and Glen sharing a room? And what did “get checked out” mean? They couldn’t be too sick if they were in the minor care pod and not one of the two standard care pods. At nineteen and twenty-eight years old, they shouldn’t have been taking a ton of meds.

STD testing, perhaps?

No, the triage nurse’d have written ‘personal concern w/testing’ on that.

Object in the butt? While everyone said ‘they fell on it,’ it usually appeared as ‘OITB.’

Drunken sex accident? Ideally, they weren’t drunk. Drunk guys, regardless of their orientation, were obnoxious when she had to file their insurance.

She opened the door to Room 78 and understood triage’s note.

There sat two shirtless firefighters ‘getting checked out.’ Even better, she recognized one of them, who had been similarly naked during their last conversation.

And he looked fabulous naked . . .

BRAVE ENOUGH TO LOVE by EmKay Connor

Complete and total silence settled over the jewelry store. Donald peered from behind the counter. Mr. and Mrs. Park huddled together, wide-eyed with terror. Mikey stared down his arm, past his gun, to the damp red stain spreading over one side of my shirt. I struggled to breathe, paralyzed by disbelief and shock.

Thirteen years on the job without more than a black eye, dislocated shoulder, and concussion. Now, I was shot.

Katie.

My thoughts flew to my wife, waiting for me in Dr. Harding’s office, assuming the worst about my absence. If the building was being evacuated and she saw the S.W.A.T. ARV, would she try to check on me? Find out what was going on?

The thought of my wife learning I was one of the hostages and waiting to see if I’d make it out alive made me want to vomit.

So alliterative... :)

Vic Vaughn is Vicious
J.A. Huss
Publication date: August 31st 2021
Genres: Adult, Comedy, Contemporary, Romance

My name is Vicious. God-given name, I cross my heart.

And it fits.

I’m a hot-as-f, inked-up tattoo artist at the trendiest shop in the Rocky Mountains.

I have the looks, I have the bike, I have the reputation.

That means I get the ladies.

Sure. There are lots of women out there who hate tattoos. Wouldn’t be caught dead with guys like me. And that’s fine. I’m not looking for girls like that.

I’m looking for that other kind of girl.

The wild one, the bad one, the crazy one.

Funny thing is… the one I fell for isn’t that girl.

She’s the Good Girl.

And maybe back when she was nineteen I came off as a ‘maybe’, but after seven years of distance I am now the definition of ‘not a keeper’.

But I can be a keeper.

I can make the good girl swoon.

I can be the dream guy she never saw coming.

If she would just… not press charges… I’m pretty sure I can turn this whole relationship around.

Vic Vaughn is Vicious is a bad-boy-trying-his best-to-win-her-back romantic comedy about a misunderstood tattoo-artist-biker called Vicious and a good girl named Daisy who ghosted him seven years ago after she came to her senses. It’s filled with funny twists, dreams of grandeur, and all seven members of the most inappropriate family in all of Colorado.

Goodreads / Amazon / Barnes & Noble / iBooks / Kobo / Audible

IMPORTANT! The eBook will release a day early on Nook, Apple, and KOBO (August 30th) and then IMMEDIATELY BE TAKEN OFF SALE so that Vic Vaughn is Vicious can go directly into Kindle Unlimited.
This book WILL ONLY BE AVAILABLE ON AMAZON after August 30th.

EXCERPT:

“Wanna go out there?” he asks me.

I don’t know what to say. I mean, not particularly. I don’t want to go out there. I want to stay in here with him.

I want to study every inch of this room.

I want to know this man.

Turning away from the open doors, I shake my head a little and once again concentrate on all the things in this space that give away hints to who and what he is.

The bed is just a mattress set on top of stacks of wooden pallets. It’s not made. But that just makes it more interesting, not less. His sheets and pillowcases are light gray satin, but his comforter is a dark gray luxurious velvet. I can only imagine what it feels like to sleep in his bed with those two contrasting textures on either side of your body.

Then I picture what it would feel like to lie next to him in that bed. To be his.

I let out a breath and allow my eyes to wander up the wall where there are more framed pictures. Magazine covers. Tattoo magazine covers, specifically.

And his face.

Vic Vaughn is Vicious, the cover in the center reads.

He’s standing next to me and I cannot stop the quick rotation of my head in his direction as I realize just who I am with. “You’re… him.”

“Him?” He smiles coyly. Then he nods his chin at the magazine covers. “I’m him. Wanna run away now?”

I shake my head, then whisper, “Not a chance.”

He closes the short distance between us, slipping behind me. And when his lips lower down to the exposed skin on the back of my neck, I have to suck in a breath and try my best not to shiver. His fingertips slide up my arms and then he slips them back down, taking my coat along for the ride. I turn to face him just as he slips his jacket off too. Then he walks over to a large, open closet and hangs them both on wooden hangers.

I don’t know why this simple act makes me tingle all over, but it does.

And he knows it does. I can tell by the way he’s looking at me.

“How old are you?” I ask.

“Way too old for you. What about you? Wanna admit to it?”

Not sure if I do. But I say it anyway. “Nineteen. Do you want me to leave now?”

“I think I want you to stay forever.”

EXCERPT:

LILY:

I had steered clear of men. In all honesty, foraging around for a penis to take my virginity hadn’t seemed worth the effort when a discreet, electronic toy gave me perfectly acceptable orgasms with none of the drama. After one disastrous dating montage in college, I had learned to ignore men. All men, except digital versions who couldn’t break my heart.

Standing here was wrong. Big mistake. Darius of Velerion had become flesh and blood and he had heartbreak written all over him in bold, capital letters.

Not that my body was listening to a hint of common sense. My nipples hardened into aching pebbles. My core was tight and pulsing and so very empty. I wanted him to pound into me like a beast.

“Lily, talk to me.”

The air left my body in a woosh and I licked my lips, my tongue brushing the tip of his finger. He stared at my lips, taking the opportunity to slowly stroke my damp bottom lip with his thumb. I lifted my hand to his chest and settled it above his heart. “I don’t want to talk.”

His turn to stop breathing.

My words were honest. The absolute truth. I didn’t want to talk. I didn’t want to lay my soul bare or ask him for anything. I sure as hell didn’t want to tell him the only knob I’d ever handled had been battery powered. Playing by the rules had done nothing but earned me a lonely, dead-end job I was tired of reading about adventures and never having one of my own.

Darius, tall, dark, sexy Darius was standing in front of me looking at me like he wanted to rip my clothes off. I was on another planet.

I could be brave and sexy and wild. Powerful. Fearless. Important. Adored.

Could I not?

If I were so brave and sexy and wild, why did my heart threaten to pound its way out from behind my ribcage? Why did I feel like I was about to faint? My body drifted and swayed like whispers and smoke, the only thing anchoring me to reality the heat of Darius’s thumb on my lip.

I watched as he lowered his head slowly, his gaze moving at the last moment from my eyes to my lips. So, so close. The heat of his breath was like fire in my throat as I breathed him in…

OH MY! This looks like an AWESOME one from Kate Hill!

Warrior Priest
Kate Hill
Publication date: August 1st 2021
Genres: Adult, Romance, Science Fiction

What happens when a warrior priest from a strict religion meets a free-spirited priestess from a new age commune? Jade and Selena are as different as two people can be, but to facilitate an alliance between their worlds, they engage in a cultural exchange. With their galaxy in danger from a planet that wants to conquer or destroy all others, they realize the importance of their assignment, but it is difficult for a warrior priest and a nonviolent priestess to understand each other. Selena is both attracted and appalled by his old school masculinity, and Jade is tempted to break his vow of celibacy until marriage due to his powerful desire for her. Will this unlikely pair not only find common ground, but unconditional love?

Goodreads / Amazon / Barnes & Noble / iBooks / Kobo

EXCERPT:

“This is our last stop before the ceremony,” Ari Tobias said.

They walked through the courtyard to where dozens of priests engaged in hand-to-hand combat. Some wrestled, others kicked and punched, and others dueled with machetes.
They paused in a circular area where three priests attacked one.

“That’s Ari Jade.” Ari Tobias nodded toward the priest who fought the three. “He’s among those being honored at the ceremony today.”

Tall and broad with long limbs, Ari Jade moved like a predator. His braid lashed behind him as he defended against the attacking priests. The severe hairstyle did nothing to hide his remarkably large ears. His high-collared black uniform clung damply to his lithe, powerful body. A red-haired priest grasped him from behind, and he easily tossed the man onto his back and struck him in the stomach just seconds before spinning and kicking the second priest. The third lunged at him and for several seconds they traded blows before the redhead kicked Ari Jade’s legs out from under him. He landed with a grunt, partly breaking his fall with an extended arm. He kicked two priests and twisted to avoid a punch from the third.

“Is something wrong, Elspeth?” Ari Tobias asked, a smirk in his voice. His gaze fixed on the dark-haired priestess.

“I’m sorry, but I don’t understand how all this bloodshed fits with religion.”

“Probably because our religion is quite different than yours. Whereas you’re upset by this, your companion seems fascinated.”

It took Selena a moment to realize that he’d been referring to her. For some strange reason, she couldn’t keep her gaze from Ari Jade. There was something almost savage about him. Some might consider his heavy features ugly—except for his eyes. They were dark, almond-shaped, and more intense than lasers. A faded scar—like a slice from a dagger—cut across his right eyebrow. He both frightened and fascinated her.

A gong sounded and the priests stopped training. At that moment, Ari Jade turned and stared directly into Selena’s eyes. A shiver ran down her spine again, but this time it was as much from desire as from fear. Ari Jade unsettled her, but she wouldn’t allow him to intimidate her. She stared back at him, refusing to break contact no matter how much she wanted to look away.

The red-headed priest punched Ari Jade amiably in the shoulder, drawing his attention away from Selena. Grateful for his distraction, she released a pent-up breath.

“It’s time to prepare for the ceremony,” Ari Tobias announced and led the way back to the temple.

Elspeth followed close behind him, but Selena hung back for a moment, her gaze fixed once more on Ari Jade. He turned to her. His dark, almond-shaped eyes narrowed and his lips twitched in an animal-like snarl. To drive off her fear and discomfort, she again noted the size of his ears and decided that she would now think of him as Ari Donkey. She couldn’t keep from smiling, and Jade scowled, their gazes still locked.

“Selena!” Elspeth called.

“Coming!” Selena hurried to join the others.
